I am very frustrated at this point, because I see that the moderators are either not interpreting our rules properly, or they are not following them. And to make matters worse, when they are questioned about these things they don't respond!

I am calling all of you to voice your thoughts on this.

I say if they can't do what is right in making sure that our rules are applied properly, then we shouldn't have any rules at all, except those that are site-wide rules.

The rules were never devised for the purpose of banning people, but for the purpose of correcting certain kinds of behavior that has been unacceptable. This objective is obviously not working because certain mods are using our rules as a means to oppress us. I know this because they are now doing it to me with this illegal ban that they performed on me.

We need to start a new poll and cast our vote on going back to the old system.

here in the progressive section we are not experiencing a problem.... then again the rules here are minimal... so that I am clear, you are requesting that the rules be revised because in your view they are not being implemented by the moderators in the way you believe they should be?

Woob, you asked for the rules that banned you. You didn't see that coming?

No Stormy, they intentionally altered the rules to ban me. Our FSB rules do not apply in the wiki. Yet, they used them on me in there. That was dishonest of them. And when I questioned them about this they ignored me!

Also, they accused me of putting up a debate thread in the main forum when I made it very clear in the OP itself that it wasn't a debate thread.

This is not going to happen anymore! I will fight to go back to the old system. They are not going to use the rules against us like this. It is unjust!

I may post on it more fully soon but I agree that in this case Woob was wrongfully issued a warning for an action that did not occur in one of our forums.

The wiki is its own section and governed by its own rules. He should not be given an SDA warning for actions there.

On behalf of the Moderator staff, I would like to publicly apologize for the mistake that led to Woobadooba's ban.

There was a misunderstanding that the forum specific rules discussed in the Wiki were applicable to the posts in the Wiki.

The ban was a mistake. I apologize.

OK, I guess most of you are happy with the current system?
I think most of us here already objected to the multi-layered legal system now in place before it was voted in by the majority. It wasn't that we didn't want ANY rules, but that there should only be a few easily stated and enforceable. Our suggestions were scoffed at and rejected as foolish. You guys got what you wanted.

exactly..... and now that it is seen to be problematic some feel like "all of us" need to do something to fix the problem..... is that like admitting that those who created the problem are incapable of fixing said problem?

We need to start a new poll and cast our vote on going back to the old system.

By "old system," do you mean the old CF congregational rules or just the current main Foru.ms rules? I would hate to go back to the old system of not allowing debate by anyone who was not an Adventist. The main rules don't address who can debate in the congregational areas, so each forum/sub-forum has to make its own rules on that. The structure of the SDA forum, with so many sub-forums (about which there's so much controversy among us even on their purpose), won't help in the simplification of our FSRs.

Maybe they are. The majority didn't think through the ramifications of all of these rules when voting them in. Now we've wasted months putting in a faulty system that was so predictably unfair and unworkable. It would have been so much easier to start off with good rules. I have to admit that I'm very frustrated by this whole thing.
