"No More Chains" by Nicole Nordeman

Doesn't that sound lot like depression, locked down in chains waiting to be executed(commit suicide). Like everything tells you that your life is over and just a matter of time. The suffering is so much that you almost welcome death. Yet... God has other plans for you. Being chained up and sentenced to death was not part of it.
In verse 7 "Suddenly..." and the Lord showed up. God met Peter in the middle of his crisis, he put the guards to sleep, the chains fell off, and the angel lead Peter out of the prison.
I don't know what your going through, but God has a "Suddenly..." for you. He can meet you in the depths of your suffering, and help break the chains off you. To overcome the guards that are placed over you, and to break you free from your prison.
Peter goes on to do great things and gave his life for the truth. The same truth that set him free from the chains of bondage. God has so much more for your life than the misery you known. Don't allow yourself to become executed by your enemies... hold on to Jesus and let him set you free.

How did I get locked up inside?
What's this that renders me paralyzed?
I lost myself in small pieces
It happened over time

I traded love for a heavy chain
Another link every other day
I pulled it up and down a mountain
It made me want to say?

No more chains
No more chains
Big and small, watch them fall away
No more chains
Big and small, watch them fall away

I wonder now if the choice was mine
The door was open, I walked inside

Nobody had my arm twisted
Nobody made me stay
The face of freedom can show up small
A tiny crack in a prison wall
A song that rises up from silence
A voice that wants to say?

I should let you give me wings
I should let you set me free
James was just killed and Simon Peter was arrested for standing up for Jesus, for the truth. Peter is placed in a secure prison, chained down, and surrounded by guards. The next day he was to be publicly executed. Peter was facing death, and was held down.Acts 12:4-11
4 After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover. 5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
6 The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance. 7 Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. “Quick, get up!” he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists.
8 Then the angel said to him, “Put on your clothes and sandals.” And Peter did so. “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me,” the angel told him. 9 Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision. 10 They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him.
11 Then Peter came to himself and said, “Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”

Isaiah 61:1-3
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness
