Is anyone else sick of hearing about this woman and her tragic life? The amount of news coverage that every inconsequential developement of this story gets is ridiculous. Even the more reputable networds are shoving this garbage down our throats.

I'm sorry she made so many bad decisions, and I agree that her end was tragic. But I simply don't want to hear about it anymore.

I suppose this is a testament to how warped our values as a society have become. I wonder if JFK got this much press? Ridiculous. Rant over.

I admit during the whole thing I fantasized that a Bahama official would hold a new conference and he would say, "We conducted an autopsy and found the cause of Anna's death was she didn't have a brain in her head."

I don't know when I've seen a person rise to such celebrity status while meaning so little in the grand scheme of things. I mean, her claims to fame were she posed nude and married a wealthy old man in a failed attempt to grab his cash.

I think we have all been victimized by 1) "slow news cycles" so they have to fill the time with something, and 2) escapism posing as news. With so much serious wrong going on the media feels the need to give us something fluffy to care about. And we go for it like a kid after candy.

I think this is a testament to the values the media wants us to have. They want us to have no thoughts of our own, and to swallow whatever they try to shove down our throats.

This is part of the reason why I severely limit my exposure to this garbage that they are feeding the masses. Usually if I want to hear the news I will go to a trusted Christian source, where I know there's at least an attempt to filter out some of the garbage.
