I own a NLT Catholic Edition and I find it enjoyable for reading scripture in a way that feels akin to a novel. Is there a particular translation you favor for similar reasons?

I've been reading the gospel of Luke in "The Kingdom New Testament", a translation by N. T. Wright. Wright aims for a style of English that's close to how native English users speak and write, and the result is a quite lively text.
I'm also fond of the New English Bible. It's a more conventional translation, but I like its literary style, so it's my choice if I'm reading long passages.
