Hi there,

So you can plainly see from this Ngram that the Devil is dividing the faith over what it believes about time (with Jesus). I'm not sure that the faith would call this a deal breaker, just that the faith of the Holy Spirit is not manifest in different ways to different people, always the same way to every believer. For this we can praise the Father and that in turn pleases Christ - because we commit to the works, that it means, for us to believe it. The faith is coming to a point where it will be tested on the Earth, perhaps what we are seeing here is evidence of the birth pangs that go with that?

It would be interesting to know how you interpret these records, for yourself, if you are a preterist especially - just given that it appears to be believed well and truly above the other versions of the faith. My personal position is that God works throughout "time", that God is able to save before, during and after the Tribulation - and I have said so before in this forum. I suppose what is interesting about the Ngram Viewer is that shows us what people are spending their time on, not "why". I don't know if that means we have to work harder to make our point understood, or that we need to relax more and trust the Holy Spirit's interpretation of scripture?

Anyway, the Ngram Viewer is not Law, I just thought it might be interesting, if you've been using scripture but are not getting heard, for example. It doesn't tell us the future, that is true.

Could it be that Christians are doing their do diligence? Exploring "other" ways to interpret eschatology?

I would be interested in finding out just what caused the sudden spike in the interest of Preterism around 1995 up to 2000 on this Ngram? Was there a cluster of published works around that year which caused a surge in research about Preterism? (whether in agreement or not with this view) For myself, I had never even heard of the word Preterism until 2012, much less read anything about it. Yet here I am 9 years later, and solidly in the category of Preterist adherents, in contrast to my pre-mil-disp. training from my youth. It creates a MUCH more optimistic outlook on eschatology, with a settled peace of mind I didn't have before, that you could not pay me enough to abandon.

My guess is - the internet. The freedom of information, the faster and easier access to information.

And internet began to spread to common households, schools, libraries in late 90's. From 2000 on people study the eschatology with the open internet sources like wikipedia and with lectures from all over the world, not with one opinionated book given to them in their local church.
