Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My husband divorced me this past April, I have not been single since 1992........I am scared and befuddled! Any advice?
I'm so sorry. That must feel horrible. I wish I had some useful advice other than "hang in there"

Any children?

I'm very sorry that happened to you. Pace yourself and find a good group of friends. Chat with the lovely people here at CF. You'll be fine. The silver lining is that you have a chance to start anew and move towards good things. If you can make a few friends to hang out with you should be fine. Plus above all, cling to the Lord for you help and healing. He's the best freind you'll ever have (I'm slowly learning this, but I'm learning). God bless

No kids, which I am thankful for in alot of ways, there were pregnancies that ended tragically in miscarriages.

I actually am doing pretty good now. I was pretty devastated for a long time.

and I have begun forgiving him.

I am homebound disabled due to knee damage, back problems, and my weight.

I am on SSI currently to help pay bills. Medicaid for medical stuff, and foodstamps for food. I am completely unable to work, in fact i cant even take care of my home, my mother comes and helps every week.

:sigh:

I am getting gastric bypass surgery, as i have battled my weight my whole life with traditional methods that just either don't work, or didn't last. ARGH!

Losing weight will fix the things that cause me so much pain and immobility.

So, my concentration is on getting healthy and building a relationship with the Lord again. My marriage was never very Christ centered and my husband was a lapsed Christian when i met him.

I know God has something for me in my future. I just have to be patient and wait on him instead of trying to guess what it is and forcing it.

Wow
My friend and her father just went to a seminar about Gastric bypass. And there were people there that had it done. Some a year ago, some 6 months ago, and the one thing that kept repeating was that they feel like they are in a whole NEW LIFE. Which is exactly what you're headed for... A WHOLE NEW LIFE! Hang in there, it's gonna be wonderful. Your ex is gonna be kickin' himself.

I've heard some negative stuff about gastric bypass surgery as well. People who have had to have it undone so they wouldn't die of starvation/dehydration and that sort of thing. Before you do it make sure that you get information from both sides so that you are sure what you are getting into.

Oh i spent three years researching and praying about it. It got to the point i was just waiting for the Lord to provide the means, and ihave been going thru the pre-op process since feburary, there is a great deal of testing and education, and a phsyc exam. I even have to take a written exam before hand to prove i have read and understand the material, with all the possibilities good and bad, before i am allowed to have it. I am using a surgeon a friend from church used, and he is affiliated with a hospital that is based in the christian faith. i have not entered this light hearted,
