  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm really enjoying all of your pictures. Is this current one photostitched together? What is PP?
Thanks for your nice comment.
Yes this was stitched together using 3 images.
"PP" = Post Processing. I use GIMP instead of what most people use (Photoshop)

I have Canon's version of Photostitch. I like it, but I don't like how I don't have much control. Maybe better pics would help... ^_^ Some merge beautifully, but others leave a distinct line. I'm thinking maybe I need to blur the edges before merging?

I will check into the AutoStitch. Thanks for the tip!:D

This one is okay...

But this one looks horrible:

Chritiana, both of those are beautiful. The photo of the harbor is ON!
You are right about the lines in the other. It is a beautiful scene though. My guess is that it is not the program but the pics themselves. It looks as if the exposures are different. It seems to be lining them up right but the lines your are getting is from the lighter/darker photos trying to merge. You have to have the same exposure setting for each of the shots. I will look for a link that I have found useful in taking panos. I'll get back to ya:thumbsup:

A couple things I forgot to mention/ask.

You may wan to try shooting from a tripod (if you aren't already)
Make sure that you have PLENTY of overlap between frames.
Shoot fast, since you are locking in your exposure you want to make sure that the lighting doesn't change significantly.

hope these help

I do believe that is EXACTLY what the problem was in the 4 framed pic. It was racing against time as the sun was really starting to set and get lost behind the clouds.

I did download AutoStitch last night. But I wasn't paying attention to where it downloaded. lol Now I have to go find it.

I just recently came to really liking panos. I never knew I had Canon's PhotoStitch. (And we wonder why I can't find the AutoStitch). So I just starting playing around with it several months ago. I would greatly appreciate any links or tips for creating them!
