New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has given birth to a daughter. Ms Ardern is the second national leader to give birth while in office. The first was Benazir Bhutto, then Prime Minister of Pakistan, who had a daughter in 1990.

Ms Ardern and partner Clarke Gayford have named the baby Neve Te Aroha Ardern Gayford. Aroha means "love" in Maori, while Mt Te Aroha is a 952-metre mountain in the Kaimai Range, on New Zealand's North Island.

Ms Ardern expects to return to a full time role as New Zealand’s Prime Minister in around 6 weeks when partner Clarke will take over the bulk of the parenting duties.

But more importantly, I once again have the responsibility of pointing out @Occams Barber's blatant racism in the use of the full name Neve Te Aroha Ardern Gayford. I got called on the carpet when I used the names Boutros Boutros-Ghali and Barack Hussein Obama. Full names are only to be used for serial killers, assassins and Jerry Jeff Walker.

Now if that baby grew up and were giving a speech in the future they would more than likely be introduced as Neve Gayford instead of Neve Te Aroha Ardern Gayford.

Richard Nixon wasn't constantly introduced as Richard Milhous Nixon.
Jimmy Carter isn't introduced as James Earl Carter.
