Replacement theology, what are your thoughts?

That term sounds so fickle... it paints God as arbitrary and puts no onus on the Israelites.

It's more like ' requirement and fulfilment'...

I was sharing the truth about the second coming of Jesus and the seven years of tribulation with a Christion book store owner today. I'm not sure how we got on the topic but I started sharing the truth about the Israel of God when she basically excommunicated me. I think we need to star a discussion on the topic. Right now I'm on my cell phone so I don't have the resources to post right now.

Is this the same as replacement doctrine?

It's probably the same, although I'm really sure what replacement doctrine is.

Replacement theology is the belief that the church, which now consists of Jew and Gentile, has taken the place of literal Israel. Jesus, as well as, Paul spoke many times on this transformation. They said things like, "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, male or female". Jesus said we are now the temple of God. Paul constantly made a distinction between the Israel of the flesh or his countrymen and the Israel of God where circumcision is not of the flesh but of the heart. There is so much more but I don't have my laptop right now.

From what I can tell, those who come to Christ are no longer "Gentiles" but son's of the promise, thus "Israel". What I think is that Israel as a nation is no longer chosen of God. "Israel" now consists of the collective whole of believers.

I was thinking, isn't it interesting that in Revelations Jesus brings judgment against 'those who say they are Jews and are not" (Rev 2:9) and also that in Rev 11:2 the outer court, which John was told not to measure was given "To the Gentiles" to be trampled under foot.

It would seem to me that the "Gentiles" are unbelievers or even apostate believers, while "Jews" are those who believe in Christ.

The prophesy of Dan 9:24 say it all...

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

The Jewish nation was given 490 years to come back to the covenant with God which they did not do. The stoning of Stephen in 34 AD was the end of this period of probation for them. The testimonies of Paul and John verify this fact....

The 'replacement theology' is sour grapes and an attempt by Satan to divide and confuse the sure Word of God

"And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed." Genesis 32:28

By definition, the true Israel is Jesus Christ. The physical Israel was a shadow of Jesus and His followers.

How are the unbelieving Jews still a part of Jesus and His followers? Other than to confuse people with Futuristic interpretation of the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation?

The Jewish nation is no longer the people of God but individual Jew can accept Jesus and become a Christian and be welcome into the family of God.

FC Gilbert (a Jew), one of our pioneers wrote a book 'From Judaism to Christianity' of his personal conversion experience and how to outreach to the Jews.
