Hello. I'm Hans. I'm 16 years old. I live in Breckenridge Colorado, in the US of A. I have been hopping around religions trying to find the perfect one for me. I was raised Christian. I was baptized in a Methodist church in my home town. But I tried Buddhism, Daoism, Islam, and Judaism. I never felt right with any of those religions. Like, ever. Then I decided it was time to go back to Christ. I never really understood Christianity though. It just felt right. It made me feel good to say that I am Christian. But now I realize, I don't know what it means to be a Christian and how to be a good Christian. Anyways, this is me, and I hope I enjoy this forum. I wish that anyone can help me "re-introduce" myself into Christianity so that I really understand it. And I don't just want to be a follower of Christ. I want to be the best I can be and the best I can to respect God and Jesus. I thank you for reading my little introduction. God bless. ✞

Hi and welcome. To be a christian means that you accept that Jesus died and rose for your sins. Hope that helps

Welcome. We can point you to things to read, but Christianity is at least as much about being part of a community, worship, and service, as about what you believe. So I really recommend that you find a Church that you trust and ask people there for help in person.

That’s a little complex, because there are lots of churches out there. But mostly they believe in similar things, as long as you stay within the major categories.

At 16, you’re probably in high school, so good advice would be to find some kids you trust and ask them for advice. Often churches have rather different programs for teenagers and adults. Unfortunately most kids will only know their own church, so you may have to ask around to see which churches are the major ones as far as programs for your age group. There will probably only be a few. At that point you may need to understand the difference between major categories, such as Catholic, mainline, evangelical and Pentecostal. Here’s my summary of kinds of church: http://www.christianforums.com/xfa-blog-entry/types-of-church.199496/

Hello Hans.

My pastor preached this sermon two weeks ago. I think you would really be blessed by it:

https://www.mcleanbible.org/sermons/person-and-work-holy-spirit-–-part-2

I also recommend my pastor's testimony (he's Jewish and he tried Judaism and lots of eastern religions before he came to faith in Christ):
https://www.mcleanbible.org/who-we-are/lon-solomon

And I recommend this sermon about the gospel:
https://www.mcleanbible.org/how-have-new-life

I hope these sermons will encourage you and maybe clear some things up in your heart.

All of Lon's sermons are posted online afterwards and there's also an Internet campus with a live satellite feed. So if it helps, you can get more. But I hope you can also find a good Bible teaching church in or near Breckenridge.

I've skied in Breckenridge three times. Nice place!

God bless!
