Have any of you seen the ads for 2 new shows on TLC? One is with a rabbi who comes to your house and the other is about childhood nutrition...they both sound pretty interesting and I just wondered if anyone had heard of them....May do a google search to find out more...

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok ...I saw Honey, We're Killing the Kids on the Today show today--the one about nutrition...They had a family with 2 chubby kids and did these pictures of them where they fast forwarded to what they'd look like at 40 if they kept eating that way...IT WAS CRAZY! They were all bloated and unattractive.JPPT1974 said:

Did you see the shows, JPPT1974? It was a really entertaining night of tv. The Honey we're killing the kids show was really eye opening...the kids had tvs in their rooms and were watching like 8 hours a day and playing video games... really bad! The nutritionist got them into shape, got rid of the sugar and had them eating apples by the end of it.

Shalom in the Home and Honey, We're Killing the Kids both come on tv Monday night starting at 11 pm. (I don't know why it comes on so late. They should get an earlier time slot.)
Rabbi Shmuley is very helpful to families. He's Jewish, but I've never heard him try to impose his beliefs on others. It's inspiring--it shows you can witness to other families by just showing them God's love!
Honey, We're Killing the Kids is shockingly nuts. I would be so embarrassed to have my family on tv and all of my poor parenting techniques exposed. Still, it is humorous. One overweight child was trying a vegetable or tofu for the first time. He pray aloud, "God, please help me to eat this food." Then he entered the food into his mouth and began gagging. There was an immediate uproar of laughter.
