Good day all, new member here. Ron is my name, 72, originally from So California, now in Texas. Long time Christian (since 8 or so). Attended Christian college ,(Baylor U), worked in media usually in a hospital setting, now thankfully retired. Attended a non denomination Bible church for 40 years until our pastor died, now I attend a Baptist church. I also host/teach a home Bible study and fill in teaching at church when needed. Married, three children, one granddaughter and one grandson about 2 months away. I spend my days either working on one of my lessons, gardening or reading. I am a voracious reader, except romance novels ... I have my standards. I follow baseball (Angels), football (Rams), hockey (Stars). I expect the rapture in about 2 years. Nice to be here.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I know where most of us went. We are all trying to find other members from the other place to bring them there with us. The problem is that I cannot private message either of you yet, and I don't think I can put the name of the place where we are here in these message replies without getting in trouble. Unless I can do it cryptically. After all, we all love the CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY and we all enjoy FORUMS which can often cast a large .NET
