Mysterious Chinese Fossils May Be New Human Species - Yahoo! News:
Mysterious fossils of what may be a previously unknown type of human have been uncovered in caves in China, ones that possess a highly unusual mix of bygone and modern human features, scientists reveal.

Surprisingly, the fossils are only between 11,500 and 14,500 years old. That means they would have shared the landscape with modern humans when China's earliest farmers were first appearing.

The Stone Age fossils are unusual mosaics of modern and archaic human anatomical features, as well as previously unseen characteristics. This makes them difficult to classify as either a new species or an unusual type of modern human.

For instance, the Red Deer Cave people had long, broad and tall frontal lobes like modern humans. These brain lobes are located immediately behind the forehead, and are linked with personality and behavior.

However, the Red Deer Cave people differ from modern Homo sapiens in their prominent brow ridges, thick skull bones, flat upper faces with a broad nose, jutting jaws that lack a humanlike chin, brains moderate in size by ice age human standards, large molar teeth, and primitively short parietal lobes — brain lobes at the top of the head associated with sensory data.

So what do you think? A new species or strange-looking Homo Sapiens?
Creationists, let's hear your views.

It's from China.... I'll wait for more peer review.
Here are a couple more sources here if you're interested: New Scientist and National Geographic. New Scientist suggests they might be the elusive Denisovans, National Geographic suggest they might just be prehistoric Melanesians.

Whatever -they were Flood victims So that puts them with those whom God may not have wanted to survive

Since when was the flood between 11 and 14 thousand years ago? I'm told by reliable sources that the K-T boundary is the flood and therefore it was 66 Ma

You must be speaking to the wrong people. 14K is the carbon dated equivalent to 4.5K. The Bible says nothing about Ma's

so what would you say is the archaeological evidence for a global flood?
OK Sounds like fun. Lets start with folded strata layers. Now you go first and tell me how layers of rock laid down millions of years apart can suddenly get all bent out of shape without cracking. After that I will let you know how the Flood did it. OK

I don't really want to get into a discussion of the details of flood geology, give me an overview of flood geology from your perspective. The most interesting thing to me is that so far no two creationists I have asked are the same in terms of cosmology, geology or even bible interpretation, there is something wrong when there is this much disparation and you want it to be taught as "the other side of the debate." it's going to be extremely confusing, not to mention the fact that from an outsider's view of classical creationism it is confusing to get from point A to point צ nevermind the fact that they're two totally disparate ideas.

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace (1 Cor 14:33)

Oh what a pity . I thought we were both going to play this game

Eh, it was going to drag the thread off-topic anyway.

An on-topic question related to your original post would be:

Would that make them then sinful men, or creatures that didn't make it to the ark?

Both. I dont want to sound flippant here but God does make reference to what appears to be ungodly union Gen 6:4. This finding may well be evidence of that (IMO of course)

Oh - I see So why didn't the rocks crack when they continentally drifted?
Some do. It is why you get geological faults. But you need to know how rock behaves under high temperature and pressure. Try to deform a rock quickly at surface conditions and it will break, do it slowly at higher temperatures and pressures and it can deform and bend. Google 'plastic deformation'.

There is no signs of higher temps on the folded rocks we are referring to
