In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi all. I am Shane.
About me, I am turning 40 on July 6th...yeah tomorrow.
I am retired military, one year out so far and working in Hampton Roads Virginia supporting cyber operators in the Air Force as a contractor with a company called ICF.
Like many of you, things are complicated. I am separated from my wife and that is all my fault. I ran from God and have recently returned from a dark place in my life.
I am trying so hard to seek God and to work towards getting my wife to consider reconciliation but at the moment it feels like I am losing the fight. So in my desperation I have been seeking God and he has not only brought me back to him, but he is teaching me so much about myself and the hurt I caused my wife.
So, here I am. Returning to my faith before being told my wife does not want to reconcile and and suffering at the news that she thinks I am too late to save the marriage now. Doing what I can but not knowing what to do to save my marriage. Seeking God's help to bring us back together even though she is not willing to go to counseling anymore. And I am here seeking other Christians for counsel and prayer.
I will post in another forum to really dive in to the details but that is me in a nutshell and why I am here.

Thank you Tigger. I posted more in the separation and reconciliation sub forum, and I agree. One step at a time. Like so many, I'm stuck in this step and don't see a way out. I'm glad to be back though. I self served for too long and ignored God. He pulled me back though and I'm incredibly thankful for that.

Thank you kingsdaughter. In the separation and reconciliation forum I went into more depth, but today I realized while replying in there that I am letting the fear of God's will possibly allowing her continue down this path of separation marching towards divorce. I do not want that. Yet I am not seeing any change in attitude towards that, even though we are friends. I may be the reason why God is not showing his work now like he had been doing. Sooooo, I am giving it to him fully even thought I fear being tested to that degree...that degree meaning trusting his will even if it does not go the way I am begging him to it to go and doing everything I am being led to do without complaint. Everything, I guess, except for committing to his will even if it means I lose her. That scares me to death and does not seem like something he would do, but I am not him. I have to do it though or else this goes no where between God and myself.
Anyway, thank you for the greeting and thank you for the prayer. I pray the return blessings to you and everyone here supporting each other from afar is multiplied over and over.
