Hi, my name is Maggie. I'm 21 years old and live in Kentucky. I have been a Christian since 1991. Right now I'm going through a hard time spiritually -- I just don't feel "on fire" for God at the moment. I struggle with depression and other mental health issues, but God has gotten me through before and I know He will continue to be there for me. I just don't feel like I belong in my church right now. I am looking for some good Christian people to fellowship with and grow stronger as a child of God.

Welcome to CF and I am sure you will meet some people on here to talk to and for encouragement. There are many areas of the site to post it, including an area for Depression (it can be found within Struggles and Recovery). I am Bipolar myself, just found out last month.

Welcome Maggie I am so glad that you came to join us. There's a couple of things I'd like to mention

One is I will be praying for you & your depression. I know that it's hard to pull through, but I am so thankful that you do have such strong faith in our Lord that He can & will be there with you to help you through, if not pull you out of it.

I think it's natural to not feel "on fire" for God ALL of the time. I think we have to go through these hard times in life to really enjoy and realize our blessings when God takes us to the tops of the mountains. I am however so glad that you have come here to help yourself become spiritually motivated again. I pray that you find what you are seeking & I do trust that you will.

The other thing, be praying about your situation and not feeling like you belong in your church right now. As you well know, never forget that the Devil is a liar and he would love nothing more than to discourage you from going to your church. If it's personal, that's understandable, but never let Satan make you feel like you just don't belong!

Welcome to the forums Maggie. My wife suffered with depression and not fitting in with any church we went too, so I can relate somewhat. You might see if a church near you has a Restoring the Foundations Ministry, or Cleansing Stream Ministry. Both are great for dealing with depression, and that lack of spiritual fire. We found them to be a huge help.

This is a great place to fellowship! There are many people of different christian faiths here---alot of very knowledgeable and caring and kind people! ...Alot of great people all over!!!

In my own life, I was baptized as a Methodist in my childhood (my family does have alot of old country mixed religious faith altogether) and later wanted a deeper personal spiritual relationship with the Lord, so I joined a Baptist or Fundamentalist small bible study and became baptized in Lord in my later teens and born again. Our Church was in a home and our Sunday service was held in the back of a Health Food Store.

The Lord has lead me much through my dreams---all through my childhood and teens...It is the best to have a strong loving trusting relationship with the Lord while you are young.

I have found I had to ask quite alot of questions about basic spiritual concepts and basic behavior issues myself in my own life and faith. This is a good place to ask any and all questions about your faith and life direction---spiritual issues and quality of life issues. I did go on to college later myself, and I studied some business managment courses and learned about management skills I never dreamed of understanding before---what good communication skills are, good assertive skills and good leadership skills, what concetual skills are, good problem solving skills and inter-personal skills---technical skills...time-managment skills etc...I then got a better handle of what power issues are and what empowerment is---in my life---my families life---both spiritually and emotionally.

I am a Liberal Christian now. I am attending a Methodist Church with my fiance, but most of my bible study and fellowship is here with the Lord, on Christian Forums.
