Isn't that the point of the bill -- making it harder for voters to participate in Democracy?
The point is to try to reduce the number of voters who oppose those in power. This has happened in the South since the Civil War. Of course, before 1964, it was the Democrats in charge.
States have every right to decide about voter ID's (as long they are easily available) and about absentee balloting. The key for Democrats is to fight through the courts for access, which needs to include many more voting sites and longer hours on election day. Obviously, the most important thing is to register folks and make sure that large numbers vote on Election Day.
President Trump publicly supported (or at least gave lip service to) the idea of Congress passing some sort of protections for Dreamers in exchange for his wall. Only one example granted, but a really prominent one.
AgreedAnd I supported neither. The wall is, and always was, a tax spending bandaid failing to address the underlying root causes.
No, and he was never going to. Strategic walls are part of his plan, as well as other technology. Put the point of my post was to point out that supporting DACA and supporting the Wall were not mutually exclusive. And I supported neither. Did Biden cancel all wall construction yet?

Well, Mexico's credit report wasn't so great. In August, he said he would not build "another foot of border wall"
Well, Mexico's credit report wasn't so great.
Always was. Short of war there was no mechanism to force them to pick up the bill.Biden seems to have zero issue with spending tax payer dollars though. Mexico's money seems to be a non-sequitur now.

Unrelated hobby horse is unrelated.True! Hence why it's going to take the states to call an Article V convention to propose a balanced budget amendment.
Mexico's money was never a sequiter, anyway. EX President Trump has always loved spending other people's money.Biden seems to have zero issue with spending tax payer dollars though. Mexico's money seems to be a non-sequitur now.

Lots of luck -- how many states have balanced budgets themselves?
NASBO considers 46 states to have constitutional or statutory balanced-budget requirements.
That's a refreshing thought -- although it leaves me to wonder how many of those balanced budgets are relying on their federal aid in order to stay out of the red.
Which States Rely the Most on Federal Aid?
If the Fed were required to have a balanced budget, I suspect a lot of that money would disappear in short order.
I assume ALL of them, unfortunately. It's why our governor pushed the Census so hard.
If they'd audit the Fed we could solve a lot of this funny money mess!
And the last administration kept trying to hamstring it.
"They" who? The Fed can certainly audit itself -- but I suspect they wouldn't find any irregularities in their own books.
