Well, now that I teach at seminary, and counsel on the side, I've got a lot of free time myself. Unfortunately, unpaid. But not living in the city anymore keeps costs down, even with gas prices up. Still, paid vacations would be nice. LOL

Iis king
I hear ya! When I was running a business there was no such thing as 'paid' vacations except that I just had to pay for them. Consequently we didn't take much time off.

Howdy everyone!

And, Iis..I gots the best way to have many many vacations..RETIRE!!! I could cuz my hubby is 11 yrs younger and "can" still provide for us both..so I play ebay! Which is a "very very part time, when I feel like it job"!

And, yeh guys..I know about the unpaid vacation thing...me and dh owned a toy store at one time...and there was no such thing as a paid own your own business vacation..it cost us plenty to go away. But, the business when in its hayday it did well enough that we got to go away some longer monday weekends that started on Saturday night...and one week per year that we let our manager work the store for us...so that was costly...but we had FUN anyways!

So, of course.."now" I am bored just doing ebay and want to go run and be a waitress, which after our business died...was what I did..and I like doing that, so pray that as soon as the young people go back to college, I find an easy slow paced restaurant where I can gather a few bucks, and "talk" to people..you know...like face to face..since I was 15 I've been a retailer and I miss the people, and yes, even the mean ones..I like training them to be nicer to others! So... and off to the post office, hannah "b"

Hmmmm, I seem to always think about Christmas in July, not sure why, but it happens every year.

And, then I start thinking about what I should get for who, and think...oooh noooo...I only have 5 months to buy everything I need to get! And, we all know how fast 5 months go by! Like didn't we just do Christmas, like yesterday?

Or, maybe it is because we Christians just like to think on HIM, amen!

I don't want to think about buying gifts, I just want it cooler and drier! I'm home now, but I miss the mountains. Actually, what I think I miss is the lack of humidity. It hasn't hit 100 in Kansas City yet this summer, but it's gotten close, and when you walk out to your car at 6.30 in the morning and you're sweating by the time you get there because its already 85 degrees and there's 90% humidity, you know you're in Missouri. Floridians only think its hot and humid there.

Actually Iis, I don't want to think about the whole commercial Christmas thing either...I just start thinking about it..which sickens me, honestly it does!

And, so you think it is hot in Kansas..apparently you haven't visited the DC area! It was soooo hot here yesterday...the air was like invisible drizzle and it was hard to breathe! And, I so know Floridians think they know hot...if so...THEN THEY NEED TO LEAVE THE STATE AND MOVE AROUND A BIT!

It hit I think close to 95 degrees yesterday with the lovely 90% humidity...it was totally gross. And, like you I like it crisp cool with some clean dry air to breathe, amen! So, in effect we both may be looking for the same thing...AIR!!!

Actually I spent two years in the swamp ... er, the nation's capitol, I mean ... at the Pentagon when I was in the Army, and sorry, Hannah, it don't hold a candle to Missouri ... Missouri ... Missouri! Kansas City is in Missouri! Kansas City, Kansas is a suburb of Kansas City, and it's the arm pit of the whole metro area, except for that little acreage out west where the NASCAR track is.

For some reason [] the city-county government there decided to dress up that area while letting the rest of the city remain a drug-infested ghetto. And oh, by the way ...

Actually, I am king. I see you're still struggling with your delusional issues.
No, I'm just ranting about confusion between Missouri [] and Kansas [

I wasn't talking about the MO/KS debate (I lived in Overland Park, KS...nice area). The delusions center around you believing yourself to be king in spite of clear facts and evidence that you are not king.

Here's the proof...

Ooops, it would be hard to believe that I actually used to be good at geography..but with old timers now..I lose track of where I am, have been, or am going! And, I've been to Kansas City and used to remember it was in Missouri! I don't think I can get any dummer, but we'll see! lol!

So, when you were stationed at the Pentagram in Cesspool city ....you didn't think DC in summer hotter than in Kansas City? I looked up the latitudes of both...and oddly enough we both be on the 39th degree of latitude..and all your hot ugly weather just comes here...and yesterday was brutal...I think it got to about 95 degrees and same humidity...Oye! Let's just say...fry eggs on sidewalk hot! I could live in New England where I hailed from as a child and be happy...but I so know that will never happen, but wishful thinking on my part! So for now...I just stay indoors when it is a code RED day! Well, Iis, sorry for the boo boo, and have a great rest of the day! hannah most definately the banana

Yes, the deodorant among sweat glands.

So you're admitting the KC area is the armpit...that's a good first step. That is why I grew up in here and moved back.

The printer/designer made a major mistake in your logo, and as you can see, I've corrected it. No charge.
You need to get your printer fixed. It's still doing it.

Just the Kansas side. On the Missouri side, you experience something foreign to Kansans: Hills. Something that actually deflects the wind. There is an old joke: Q: Where is the best six inches of Kansas top soil? A: Missouri. (And as long as Wichita and Kansas City, Kansas exist, the average IQ in the whole state will suffer). Sorry, Kansans. Just kidding -- the way you like to kid us "hillbillies" from Missouri. I may have lived in Overland Park, but it is basically a misplaced Missouri city.

Sorry, but it was your printer/designer who screwed up the original design. As I've said, I've corrected it for him/her.

Hello you guys,

So, there are hillbillies in Missouri...hmmm, learn something new every day! I just always "think...one must live in the mountains to be considered a "Hill-billie"...but apparently I'm mistaken. Or am I missing the fact that there are "some" hills in MO?

Where I live it could be called Appalachia...but I prefer...the boonies! But, we do live at the base of one of the bigger mountains in our area of Maryland. But, west of us...are some even bigger ones...so I know we have what most would consider...hills! So, we be real "hill-billies" round these parts! Well, off to watch a movie with the hubby...see ya' later! Hope I didn't interupt to bad into your converstions..if so...sorry! your sis, hannah "b"
