Liberal Churches
The forum for liberal churches of all denominations.

Welcome to the new Liberal Churches Forum.

This forum is a fellowship forum for Christians who consider themselves "liberal Christians" or who belong to a denomination that is "liberal". The term "liberal Christian" is extremely difficult to define as it depends on the point of view of the observer. It is sometimes a classification of exclusion - a Christian who is not a fundamentalist or moderate is probably a liberal.

The forum-specific rules are:

1. General forum rules applies. Read them here.

2. This forum is open to ALL Christian members.

2. Non-liberal Christians are not allowed to debate in this forum. Any debate relating to Liberal Theology must go to the Liberal Theology forum here.

3. Specifically, there will be no debates or discussion about premarital sex, abortion or homosexuality by any members in this forum. Such debates or discussion belong in the Liberal Theology forum here. This is pursuant to Forum Rule 4, details which are here.

These rules may be modified as the needs of this forum changes. Please check this often. :)

BTW... If there's a dispute about whether or not someone can debate in LC, who resolves it? I am inclined to suggest that, unless the dispute is obviously in bad faith, the resolution be that people be welcome, because that's the Liberal Way. I would hate to think that people felt excluded due to uncertainty!

If the debate gets heated, it should be moved to Liberal Theology. That forum is mainly for fellowship. :)

Can I petition to have my "christianity" reviewed, so that I may post in Liberal Churches? I am a regular in Liberal Theology, and really enjoy the discussion there. I think my record shows that I'm not a rabble-rouser. I feel that I have faith, or at least I try to have faith; I just cannot believe in the supernatural. I would really like to be able to follow my fellow liberals to the CO forum. I'll even give you my word only to post in that CO forum; I'll leave the rest alone, and if you ever find that I've posted outside of the Liberal Churches forum and in other CO fora, you have every right to ban me.

Please?

It's a Christian-only forum, and so it is subject to Rule 6. A Christian has to believe in the resurrection of Christ, which is supernatural.
