Rural Kanpur is fighting its most frightening scourge — a mystery disease that has left a long line of bodies in its trail and doesn’t seem anywhere finished.

What started from one village two weeks ago has now spread to 350 and has so far claimed 160 lives. Thousands more are bed-ridden. On an average, 15 to 20 people have been dying every day; Saturday saw the highest toll in a day: 24.

The district’s health department is somewhat confused about the nature of the disease that has struck. At the beginning, the diagnosis was viral fever. Then doctors concluded that it was falciparum malaria. But after two weeks, they have ruled out both but still don’t have an exact answer.

“We really don’t know what exactly it is; we are depending on the finding of a team of specialists from New Delhi,” said Dr RC Agarwal, the district’s new chief medical officer.

Not quite as ominous once you read a portion of the article that you neglected to include. Come one, stop fear mongering!

From the article:

Dhar still remains a perfect picture of neglect and apathy. Heaps of garbage continue to be littered all over. Houses are surrounded by stinking filth and roads are waterlogged — perfect breeding grounds for diseases like malaria. The village’s secondary school has been shut down for an indefinite period. Children would wade through knee-deep water to reach the school.

I have been a Pastor 30yrs. or more and I know as a fact anything from God is always back up by the Scripture or you may say by the word of GOD...Your coment doesn't show any Scripture at all to back up what you are saying to the people on here...You do know that the devil can tell you things like this, if it isn't back up by scripture I would trash it, because it could be from the devil....

I very much respect the fact that you have given 30 years of your life to serving the Lord. amen brother wonderful job !! What you may not see from the warning itself is the fact that the forwarning from God. The prophectic warning itself was given to one and then in prayer confirmed by several others. This is in accordance with scripture as i know you are aware of for a prophectic message to be confirmed by another before acting upon-delivering the message. And of coarse you and i both know such horrific plague disasters are spoken of in scripture for the end season before Christs return. There is plenty of scripture to back this plague and others that will surface and delivering the message has been and always is in complete accordance to Gods Word. This is not one individual acting upon a message but a group of people with the prophetic gift. No message is given without confermation from God to another this according to scripture should rule out the enemies envolvement. I will take into consideration and am in agreement with you that we need to put scriptual evidence with our warnings when they go out. Just because we know which scripture backs it that doesnt mean others do. so yes i thank you and am in agreement with you we need to list the scripture pointing to the forwarning. Brother rod
