What version? I have had this issue with NIS 2003 and 2004, not sure before that because I didn't try streaming radio. I try to listen to a station in South Carolina and I have to drop my firewall long enough to connect, otherwise nothing happens and it's the same with others too.Rainbow Rose said:I have Norton Internet Security and it is on and I can play the radio.
What settings do you have your firewall and privacy controls set at? Maybe you have them set to high. I have mine set to medium. Have you tried turning off Norton to see if the radio works without it?Knight4God said:Could someone give me some tips on why it doesn't work for me?I configured my Norton firewall to permit Win Med Player, but I still hear no sound.I even opened WMP manually and nothing.WMP works fine for me if I'm using it solo.No problem with streaming music.Just not thru CF.
Mine is 2002. I pay the fee every year to keep it up-to-date but I haven't upgraded to a newer year.doofus125 said:What version? Make sure you have Windows Media Player installed in your Windows.Knight4God said:I couldn't get it to work.
Autoprotect is the antivirus part of Norton Internet Security (or Norton Antivirus by itself), but the firewall is where the issue lies.....Does anyone know how to get it to work with NIS? CF isn't the only place that it doesn't work for me unless I drop my firewall and I would like to fix the problem if someone has a solution for it.love4jesus said:Yes! It worked for me and I didn't have to disconfigure no disable the auto-protect.I wasn't going to use it if I had too because this is my brother's computer and I wouldn't want him to get mad at me. Thank you Erwin!
It is installed.I use it exclusively.I have NIS 2004 with updates.Erwin said:Make sure you have Windows Media Player installed in your Windows.
What version of WMP ae you using? I'm using WMP 10 & NIS 2004. I go to Stream Audio to listen to music and I have to drop my firewall before I open the browser and choose my station, then I can put the firewall back up, but I don't like to do that all the time. I get the same effect there as I do here at CF and I just dont' understand why. Someone said something about using NIS 2002 w/updates and as I remember that version didn't have pop up blocking, but even if you disable pop up blocking in NIS 2003/2004 you still have to drop the firewall.Knight4God said:It is installed.I use it exclusively.I have NIS 2004 with updates.
WMP 10, I can connect through the WMP radio option without a problem. I can't find a setting to change to allow it besides disableing the firewall.pgp_protector said:Love it, works great with firefox (Nice supprise) and works with both my software & hardware firewall.
If your having a problem, check your version of Media Player, and try to connect to a radio station with just the Media Player, if you can't connect still , check your firewall settings.
I'm using WMP v.10 and NIS 2003 and I don't have to drop my firewall to listen to local stations. It just don't work on CF.doofus125 said:What version of WMP ae you using? I'm using WMP 10 & NIS 2004.
