Just dropping, Facebook is changing it's policies soon, to discourage mention of religion and politics in member's information, and posts mentioning religion or politics.

So if you have friends who post there, and they tell you they've gotten a notice, now would be a good time to mention CF to them, as an alternate posting space.

Just saying.

Well this better be atheism, and wiccan as well. And all the other horrific cults.

Twitter has reinstated groups who were banned from their freedom of speech.
I don't know Elon Musk, but at least he believes in the principles of our founding fathers.

Social media is like [nanny state mind you] one big nursery center where diapers need changed on the constant.

I've noticed this recent soft effort by secularism to "discourage" people of faith from letting anyone know about it or see it with policy changes and articles trying to tell Christians we can be quiet about it. Which is totally in line with what satan wants, he doesn't want us evangelizing and cooperating with Jesus to make sure souls are saved.

It's probably a dry run, a beta test before they start using stronger measures to purge Catholicism out of the culture once and for all.

Half true if you read their information.

They are removing those attributes from a member's profile. Most secular social media platforms don't ask what religious or political persuasion you are in your profile.

They specifically say this change does not affect the ability of users to post this information about themselves if they wish and there's no mention about limiting discussion of these topics.

Think about that for a moment.
1. The members have already made that choice to post the information.
2. In removing it, Facebook is deciding to not recognize that part of their identity.
That is something that Facebook can do because they own the site. But I think that they have not yet realized what the response would be.

I have thought about it, and researched. Facebook is not discouraging posts against religious or political content, so that part of what you said is not true.

They are simply removing the dropdowns that let you identify yourself (if you wish) by your religion or political party. They're also removing your address field and the field that identifies sexual orientation.

If you want, you can certainly put any of that information in your bio statement, so there is not some big undertaking to suppress our religious expression.

To view this as some kind of attack on religious liberty makes us look silly imo. Should the LGBQT community view the fact they're removing the sexual orientation field as an attack against them? We would see that as them overreacting and being pushy and aggressive I think. There are enough real problems, and when we create ones where none exist it weakens our ability to be taken seriously regarding the real ones. Again just my opinion.
