  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello everyone,
I'm here now, a newlywed!
This marriage is hot out of the oven,
fresh off the lot-
Just a week ago we tied the knot!
our marriage is like a newborn baby…
a lifetime of maturing to do
it's been all fun so far
because it hasn't seen any of those defining challenges yet
that test its strength…
but I'm sure it will. And when it does, I'll be here.

In the mean time-
A little bit about me:
I'm 26 years young, a Florida girl born and raised.
I met him when I was 21, just out of college.
He was 22, just out of military, honorable discharge.
We fell in love right away, but he has PTSD and it took a few years
for him to heal and grow strong and for us to be ready for marriage.
And now here we are!
We are members of a local church, and we hope God will use us
in every way possible to make a positive impact on the community.

Want to know more about me or him or us?
Just ask me anything.... I'm an open book.
And also a comedian. So my answers might have some slight exaggerations and ironic value to them.

Welcome! I've followed many of your posts in the Singles forum.

The Married section can be a bit of a boxing ring at times.

Hint: don't use the "s-word" (submission)!

Me? NEVAR!

I'm too cool for that.

What does that mean?

When people are dating and get married sometimes expectations change. Being married doesn't always mean the same thing to everyone, this leads to differing expectations between spouses sometimes. ie If your parents always did the dishes together then its obvious to you married people do dishes together. If your husband's mother did the dishes all the time and you ask him to help you he might get peeved a bit and think you are being lazy cause his mom always did the dishes. If his mother comes over and sees you asking him to help do the dishes she might think you are being lazy because... and on and on it goes.

Little things like those tend to be straws that add up and break the camel's back if they are not addressed early and out in the open.

I let the dishwasher do the dishes :\

Welcome.

Btw, if you can get a dishwasher that scrapes the gunk off and puts the dishes in itself, let me know.

I prefer the human variety of dishwasher if you can afford to hire them. That was one of the good things about living overseas.

Congrats, BGS :) I pray you're able to find your niche here in the "non singles" areas. It can get pretty abrasive and harsh around here sometimes. Keep your thick skin on and have fun!

well, I don't have thick skin.
But I do have tan skin, and according to some tee shirt I saw at
Hollister's, those who have tans are the only ones who can survive in California.
I live in Florida, but I figure it's probably the same survival tactic.
