I had lost my other ID and password so I re registered. I am not really new but have not posted for a long time. I have some issues I want to deal with but am never sure how. I have depression, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, Post traumatic stress disorder. I am also a survivor of childhood abuse.

I have always felt God was there but as a child did not know I could turn to him. No one taught me that God could be an active participant in my life. I do know though one thing he did for me without me asking. He sent a messenger to keep me alive. I know this sounds nutty but I hate cats, I always have. When I was 12 my father let my sisters have a kitten. I was mad because we already had so many cats. That cat ended up following me all over and chose me over everyone. You have no idea how that felt to a child who was emotionally abused and neglected. She became my best friend and is the only thing in my childhood that made me feel like I mattered to someone. I will not go into detail as to what she did for me but to this day I believe God sent her to me to help me through the rest of my childhood. Since then I have never liked any other cat and I still do not really like cats. So it was a strange experience.

I plan to post in the Survivor of Abuse forum because I have things I need to say. It might be sporadic because I have trouble connecting with people. But I am going to try. If I do not reply to people it is because I am not always sure how. I do not feel like a survivor.
So that is why I am here.

I do want to say hi to all the Christians. I did try a church for 15 years but it turned out to be a more of a cult and now I am afraid to go to any church. It was like being in another abusive family. I stuck it out for so long because I thought God wanted me to try. You do not always see things clearly when you are in the middle of it.
That is all I guess.

I am glad you are reaching out to the recovery forum. There is lots of caring people that will listen to you pray for and help you in anyway.
You have my prayers as I am a survivor of childhood abuse.
