  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

we have a norweigan elkhound (kinda looks lika small german shepherd, but with a curly tail) and lately, everytime i go to make a sandwich, just as soon as i take the bread from the freezer, she hops off the couch, puts her tail between her legs, and goes into the front room and sits beside my mum. every single time, and she only sterted doing it the other week. any ideas why this is happening? or is she just nuts?

nb. she was never locked in the freezer, or beaten with a loaf of bread. theres no logic behind this.personally i think she's just a neurotc dog.

Hm, wierd. Maybe if you went and got her before you made a sandwich and said "come on with me I'm going to make a sandwich, do you want a piece of my sandwich?" and bring her in the kitchen with you, you could put a liesh on her too when you do this, so make your sandwich and then make her sit or lay nicely next to you while you eat yours and tell her when you are done with your sandwich you will give her a piece, then go and put it in her dish, she won't learn to beg but she will wait because she knows you will always give her a piece, she will be rewarded for good behavior. Then she will probably start following you happily wagging her tail whenever you go to make a sandwich.

sounds like a good idea,...
I don't know why this may have started... any chance she was near the freezer when something fell out & made a loud noise?
I have a rather insane belgian shepherd, who is affected sometimes with strange insecurities... but food isn't something he's afraid of...in fact it would be a nice change if he ran out of the kitchen when I prepare food! ;)
Let us know how things go...

Do you and your mother have differing policies on table scraps? If so, it could be that when your dog hears you going for food, she goes to your mother to get some, even though you haven't actually gotten it out of the freezer yet.
