Hey Nehemiah_Center, I was looking at my prayer journal and wondering if you could give us an update on your project. Did you go to closing on the building yet? Any needs you have? New stuff to pray about?

Yes we closed but now the Zoning board has shut us down hard
Seems that a Bar was ok
A church is not

Is that because a bar generates tax revenue, but a church doesn't?

Something like this happened in Orange County, CA a few years ago. The church bought some land, but the local Redevelopment District condemned it to build a Costco, if I remember correctly. It was covered a lot in the press. You might want to get in touch with those people. There are organizations that help churches with this sort of issue. If you have trouble finding them, let me know & I'll do a little research for you.

I have a little experience with zoning boards. Actually, I've never lost an appeal yet, so if I can help you, let me know.

The zoneing board seems to think that knife fights, drugs, prostitution, and public drunkeness is ok, but Praying is not.....go figgure!!!! sometimes i wonder where folks heads are at......
