  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi;

DS has had a really rough start to school. He entered Kindergarten this year after 2 years in an early intervention preschool.

I spent the summer prepping him with the teacher's name, his aide's name and his morning routine.

Two weeks before school, his teacher quit, a week before school his aide quit. Then on Monday, they changed his bus schedule so he leaves 40 minutes earlier. :doh:

Needless to say, this has been very frustrating for me, I can only imagine what's going through his head!

Today, I get a phone call from the principal, and was informed that his temporary aide quit today because she is 'frustrated' with him. They have a sub coming in and they MIGHT hire her for the full time position. Now I have to decide whether to send him and risk having the school hire someone else to start with him next Tuesday or keep him home till they hire someone.

Any advice and all prayers are appreciated!

God Bless...

Have you talked to the school about the necessity of regularity and preparation for your DS? I had a staffing situation at my DD daycare/preschool and I went and talked to the director and told her that my DD dosen't deal well with change so it would be in her best interest to have a regular permenant staff in her classroom. The director arranged it so that another familiar teacher from the class above her (they play in the same playground so the kids all know both sets of teachers) came to her classroom permenantly and they hired a sub and eventually a permenant staff for the other room. That elped my DD alot.

I will be praying for you and your DS

Thank you for the prayers.

I have been in conference with his new school since last January so that they would be prepared and have everything in place. We were trying desperately to make sure that there wouldn't be any surprises at the beginning of year. Unfortunately all our preparation was in vain because of circumstances beyond our control.

Thank you again for your prayers, I have felt them.

I just realized I never updated this...thank you for all the prayers.

The school ended up hiring my entire hometeam to work with James. He has settled right in but the school still is accepting that he is as good as he is. They can't seem to understand that we've worked really hard to make him aware of what is around him and communication and having friends, etc.

I've had to pull him out of the 1/2 days because the school is refusing to allow him in other classes. As a result he's been spending two afternoons a week with his aide doing worksheets. I was heartbroken when I found out but I feel much better now that I've pulled him from the extra time in school. He'll only be attending with his regular class now.

Thank you so much for the prayers.
God Bless...
