Need to find good christian music

:help: So here is my delema. I listen to screamo/ punk/ emo /ska... that type of music. Not alot of it is geared to christianity, or more so away from it. Granted you can find christian punk and ska I really would like to find some screamo or something to that effect. It's the type of music I've been into lately and everything I find is usualyy really NOT chrisitian.
I was listening to AFI for awhile but didn't feel it was at all christian, or even nothing, more on the dark side but it made you feel good. I've stopped listening to it but my friends still do and sadly I got my brother into it.
I just want to find some good screaming / emo / screamo to introduce into our group. If anyone at all knows any good bands under those such categories it would be more than greatly apprectiated!

Well, I love the hardcore/emo/screaming music as well. Check out solidstaterecords.com for some great Christian Artists. I really suggest just getting their samplers no2 and 3 for checking out which bands you might like. Living Sacrifice (from CD Reborn and on), Soul Embraced, and Demon Hunter would have to be some of the best. With Extol, Society's Finest, Stretch Arm Strong, and Embodyment (Embodyment is more of hard/pop rock {except first cd is really brutal sounding and awesome}) being awesome as well. And fyi Blindside is a great Christian band as well that gets airtime on secular radio stations. Also check out East West...They are a very good hardcore rock band but the singer has a great vioce as well. Their CD "The Light In Guinivere's Garden" is just flat out awesome!!!!

If you don't mind me asking what kind of (I guess) non-christianmusic do you listen to, just so I can get an idea of what kind of music you're pointing me in the direction of.
Thanks alot Dapo|e ?, I will definately check those bands and that website out! Do you know if the bands are really, I don't know, preachy or worshipy, heh, or can you even tell with the screaming? Just because I know with some of my friends they wouldn't want to listen to it just for that simple fact. It's a struggle.

I try not to listen to too much secular music. But they are like a Slipknot/Godsmack/Mushroomhead I think. I don't really know cause I do not like calling Christian artists knock-off bands. They have their own style. You can listen to some of the songs on mp3.com (There is a link from the Solid State Records site. I know that Extol's song "Ember" is on the mp3.com site and it is onr of their best songs.) Also Pillar and P.O.D. and Project 86 are very good bands, that are not quite as hard. The bands are not too preachy their songs generally are written from spiritual struggles they have had. Hope this helps out. If you need anymore info feel free to ask.

i don't know if you have ever heard of them but mineral is a great band..... their lyrics are THE most passionate lyrics i have ever heard from a band.... they aren't on a christian label but they definitly have christian based lyrics...... i have never heard music more humble and awesome as theirs...... they used to tour with jimmy eat world back when they were cool(or before they became popular)................ here is the link to their lyrics............ http://www.crankthis.com/mineral_lyrics.html

seriously take the time to read their music...... they have broken up but alot of the same members formed another band called the gloria record.... if you want to learn more about other underground christian bands you can pm me....

The only Screamo Christian band I've heard is
Dead Poetic
. Their album Four Wall Blackmail is great. I don't who they might sound like since I don't know any secular screamo bands, but they're really good.

Check out Still Breathing also. It's a female fronted hardcore metal band. Sadly, they only recorded one album before braking up; it's called September, and it's really good, too. Their sound is like Kittie's, but even more heavier.

If you want punk, that real hardcore old school type, not that Relient K/Good Charlotte pop/punk stuff, then check out Headnoise. This band is fronted by a girl, too. They sound like The Distillers, but their sound is grittier and less polished, somewhat like The Sex Pistols.

Hope that helps, peace.

A lot of the new Tooth and Nail bands are good. Check out the Tooth and Nail website (toothandnail.com) to see more. If you like emo rock then I would suggest Anberlin, Further Seems Forever, and Mae on that record label. Also, Cool Hand Luke is great as well as a band from Ohio called Names Without Numbers.

Of coarse, I should plug my own band in here, too. Mending Point is more of a straight up rock emo thing but you might like us. (mendingpoint.com) Good luck in your search. God bless.
