• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I know that this can be one of the most common yet overwhelming things that someone can face as a Christian. Try not to feel pure shame in regards to your circumstance. It can be discouraging, and God doesn't want you to be unhappy.

This can be a difficult thing to discuss with friends and family, so it might be easy to feel alone. I have youth at my church tell me about this struggle, and it's always difficult to respond. I usually tell them that God is on their side. Lust is a deadly sin, and it has the potential to grow more dangerous if left unchecked. That being said, it's natural as well.

In terms of practical tips, I could list some, but this not might be the best place. I'll PM you if interested.

Thank you, SirDude, for sharing. I can really relate to your struggles. MB has been such a challenging thing for me to deal with too. So I'll pray.

Lord,

Thank you for SirDude's honesty and desire to please you with his life and body. He only wants to successfully consecrate it as your temple. But he struggles. You know all about that, Lord. First, show him that you do indeed love him, even if he relapses. Don't allow shame or condemnation to fester in his soul. May this be an opportunity for You to glorify Yourself through him and his testimony. Encourage SirDude, Holy Spirit, so that he doesn't lose hope and give up.

May you bring friends into his life, friends that he can trust and confide in. May you bring him insight, wisdom, and tools that will inspire him to manage his life in a new direction. Bless his quiet times with you, Lord. And give him vision about what You have in store for him in regards to his life, his work, his relationships, and his spiritual life. Thank you, Lord. We pray and receive this in Jesus' name.

Amen
