My daughter, Stephanie, is bipolar and we have had some bad episodes with her. The last couple of years she seemed to have straightened out. She was working steady and decided to go back to school to finish her senior year. She is 28 years old.

This Christmas with Terry gone has really caused her to backslide. She is very angry with me because I did not hang Terry's stocking on the mantle. She took hers down and destroyed it. I tried talking to her, as well as her grandmother and aunt. We have encouraged her to turn back to the Lord and to get into counseling. She has lashed out and said nobody cares about her and that her dad was the only person she ever could relate to. She is angry and rebellious. This is the worse I have ever seen her.

She flew back to school this morning. She told me she was never returning. She has not called yet to say she got back safely to campus and she refuses to answer her phone and voicemails.

Please keep her in prayer.

Dear JeanR,

Thank you for sharing about your daughter. This must be really hard for you. I want to let you know that I just said a prayer for you and Stephanie and this verse came to mind - "For God is not a God of disorder but of peace." (1 Corinthians 14:33). May the God of peace bring about your reconciliation with Stephanie and bring peace into your family. And may he flood your heart with his divine peace as you entrust Stephanie's mental and physical health into His hands. Hang in there, my dear sister in Christ!
