Need prayer today...

I would just like to ask you guys to please say a prayer for me today. Read something this morning that caused a rather major OCD spike. I don't want to share the details because I don't want someone else to "spike" if you know what I mean.

Just need some prayer today especially from you guys who know what OCD can be like.

HI KayKay,
I totally understand what you mean by reading something that causes a rotten spike. The news can be a great source of spiking for me. One of my worst and longest held OCD obsessions was triggered by something I read. I know that familiar stab in the gut when that happens. I'll pray that you will be able to ignore the anxiety, kick it to the curb,just let the thought be there, go with the flow etc.

kay, still praying for you! Like mitzi, I know all to well about that one spike (or thought or feeling) that sets of some pretty bad obsessing. Try to stay present, and focus on the task at hand... you will get through this!

Thanks for all the prayers guys! I really appreciate it!
Seeing my counselor this afternoon. I have not had to see her in quite some time. I also want to express how helpful it has been just to find this forum. My counselor kept telling me I needed to get out of "denial" about the fact that my struggles are largely OCD-related. Recognizing that others are battling in some of the same ways I have has really solidified in my mind that it truly has been OCD I've struggled with all these years...if I still had any question about it at all. It's odd to me how easy it is to recognize an OCD spike in someone else, but your own seems totally reality-based, ya know?
