I am one week into the most difficult time of my life. My wife left our home one week ago, taking our 2 1/2 year old son, James, and my stepsons Dewayne and Nathan, who I love as if they are my own. She has left me for another man, but I still love her and am still in love with her. God is giving me strength, and I forgive them, and I know I will be O.K., but if anyone knows of any scriptures that may help, I could really use it.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Stay busy. Volunteer at church or at a homeless shelter close by. Get out of the house. Read the word when you wake up and before bed. I'm partial to Proverbs and Ecclesiastes but many people prefer the New Testament. Hang in there. Give God time to open your eyes to the open doors in your life.

I actually agree with you on this one. The problem is getting him from where he's at to where you are. If we were neighbors we could go out for a pint...
