  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am doing some individual research on Ambrose and plagarism. Many of my History profs have stated that Band of Brothers is plagarized. Does anyone know if this is true? Or have any info or sources? I have been looking for hours but all I can find is info on Wild Blue being plagarized.

Thanks!!!!!!!!

My Googling turned up the same as you. Band of Brothers seems utterly untainted by plagiarism allegations. That doesn't surprise me that since the time it was published, and since several portions of text were quoted directly in the mini-series and many of the men involved were still alive and participated in the writing/production process - BoB should be fully vetted.

As a man with a BA in History, I find plagiarism to be bothersome, but not criminal. Fabrication is the worst offense a history writer can commit, followed by agenda driven selectivity (look for the elipses......).
