Hello everyone , it's my first time here on the forums yay . Anyways, I've come to these forums because I'm seriously stuck between two choices, and I do not know which to make. I would gladly appreciate any help or response I can get . Let me tell you the story.

Ever since my sophmore year of high school, I've been addicted to a game called Ragnarok Online. The company that made this game is called Gravity Co. So in a nutshell, Ragnarok Online is an online game that requires the players to make a fee of 12 dollars a month to play the game. Honestly, I think it is WAY too overpriced. This is one of the main reasons why some people have switched over to "private Ragnarok Online" servers. Private Ragnarok Online servers are servers ran by anonymous people who wish to give themselves and others a chance of playing the game without having to pay for it. Private servers, in itself, are considered "illegal". Anyways, as time moved on, Private Ragnarok Online servers starting to become more populated, and more of them appeared like wildfire. In this present day, one can easily find private server and join it within minutes. Because private servers are NOT a part of Gravity Co., Gravity Co. decided to file lawsuits against the owners of these private servers. Why? because why would you want to pay to play a game, when you can play the exact same game for free? So the math here is, Gravity loses players thus losing profit. However, Gravity's efforts only lead to about ONE private server to be shutdown by the feds.

Today however, Gravity has legit servers all around the world, including one in the U.S. Because so many players have joined up with their servers, Gravity has decided to not shed any more sweat into fighting against private ragnarok servers. This is because they already make much profit off of their legit servers. From what everyone is telling me, Gravity could care less. The status of Gravity right now is that they're currently working on the sequel to Ragnarok, so they really don't care too much about their first game.

Alright well, here's where the ambiguity sets in: If one were to play on these private servers, would it be considered stealing? I'm so tempted to play on these servers, and my conscience is telling me two things. One side of my conscience is telling me, go ahead, if Gravity Co. was truly devasted and in a state of loss because of these Private Servers, then they would be all over them, but the truth of the matter is, they're not doing anything. So.. no harm, no foul right? however... the other half of my conscience is telling me, if this is considered stealing, then it is sin.

I've played on private servers on and off, for a long time, and this thought never occurred to me till just a couple nights ago. Honestly, I don't think playing this game will impair my relationship with God, but if playing on these private servers is a sin, well then... it's a sin, and I should stop.

Sorry for the long read, but I really hope to find some sort of response to the topic. Once again, thank you for taking the time to read this :) Oh , and feel free to send me a whisper if you like

I think the best way to go is what is pure and honest. The idea that it can be a form of stealing is bugging you, so I would take that hint and stop doing it. if doing the right thing is just about money, I would also consider, is money and being stingy going to be your god? (christians are all tested in this area, please don't be offended). I really think you should be respectful to the owners of the game and not join the criminals. remember to treat others as you would like to be treated also, but even still, do the right thing. God will bless you, pass the tests. God bless

Dear Diddykong

If you think it is SIN and do it regardless if it be SIN or not you are guilty of sin. So says GOD'S WORD!

JUST REMEMBER:

“ Believe “ in Greek is a verb and has three components which are: hearing, accepting, and then " ACTING " upon that which you have accepted. X Even though you can't see him, GOD is there!!! O ( click on the x and drag to the O ) ( then see who is with you ) steven

Like most things in life YOU have control over YOU.
Muture, learn, do better, strive for control and obtain it. Whatever you feed into your brain, THAT is what you become. feed it a healty diet... cut out the crud. YOU KNOW what the crude is in your own life. get to it!

Is it too hurtful to say..."time to grow up!"?

They developed the game, so I think it's fair that they get to decide how it's used. Private servers basically make it possible for people take their software and use it for their own gain, even if it's not a financial gain. Would you like it if someone did that to something you spent years to develop?

YES ITS A SIN! AND YOU WILL BURN IN HELL!

If this is the greatest of your worries... i think your good man. If you honestly feel bad about it...then some would say that doing it is a sin anyway, becuase it shows your willingness to sin.

But such things really do nothing but make you say "hmm.....thats enteresting..."and that alls they should do. Dont worry about it.

How about...the fact that your playing a video game that depicts anti-christian views? like Ragnarok being a Norse (i beleive) idea....whoa...so its even more sinful now huh? cus the bible says think of those things that are "true"...

it doesnt matter man.
Kinda like how my momma never let me watch ninja turtles...cus they werent "true" ...
