Need a name for rescue turtle.

Believe it or not, I have a rescue turtle (Box turtle), and she needs a cute name.

I posted this on facebook, and thought I'd share what a few friends told me. I think it's very cute.


L. once had a turtle named Turdy.

F.'s son has a turtle named Squirtle.

M. had a box turtle named Shell-don.

And the suggestion is to call my turtle Myrtle. I actually like it, but would like a few other suggestions. Any ideas?

As it is a rescue turtle I would call it something like Grace or Graceling, Mercy/Mercylou etc

Normally, I'd do something like that - if this was a dog or cat - something affectionate. Turtles are not affectionate - they look at you with the same look that cats do when you call them and they won't come. Like they tolerate you.

But, she is cute, and I love taking care of her.

Anyway, since no matter what I call her, she won't come, I'm looking for something fun that either rhymes with 'turtle' or is a play on the word like a pun.

I'm still leaning toward Myrtle. Still not sure. 'Never thought I would be doing this with my time. lol

Go with Myrtle. I think it's very fitting for a turtle.

We have two Russian tortoises named Chad and Daisy. (The kids named them. )
