  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I hope you are in great shape. :) You need an extraordinary will and be able to PT past the point where most people fall out.

I am USAF, but was USN ROTC in college (it's a long story as to why I chose this route). And, my nephew is at the USN Academy now.

The biggest factor in becoming a SEAL is in your physical fitness.

God bless,
Dave

is anybody on this forum one, i am interested in the S.E.A.L.S. division and would like how to apply or become one; any help offered would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Your first step will be contacting a Navy Special Warfare recruiter. (1-888-USN-SEAL) He will inform you of a program called the SEAL Challenge Program Option.

I would not advise enlisting under this program without learning more about the Navy, SEALs, their structure and typical mission profiles.

Good luck.

And discover what happens to you, if you don't make it. Always prepare for a failure when trying stuff like this, since you might find yourself dropping out and being in the Navy for 5 years doing a job you hate.

You will have to want it, really want it. Physical conditioning is important, but mental condiditoning is key. You will have to be in better shape than a football player or wrestler, no offense to those folks. That marathon thing is a great step in that direction. But, you will find that you are the biggest obstacle to your success, that is, your mind. Having a contingincy plan in case you fail sounds like good advice, but it will be there in the back of your mind, and that option will attack you during the toughest moments. I'm speaking from an Army perspective, not Navy, but I think it still applies. I lost count of the guys who were bigger, stronger, and had better physical endurance than me, who dropped out of RIP, battalion, and Ranger school. Failure can not be an option or it will be an option, an option that will look better and better. So, before you decide this is what you think you want to try, make sure it is, make certain it is. If it is, and you are in top shape, you will have a decent chance.

Hope you make it.

I'm doing a Navy Seal workout right now. It is designed by an ex- Navy Seal. It prepares you for the tests for get in and is 12 weeks long. You have to have access to a pool and a track and involves tons of push ups, situps. pull ups, and other stuff. Anyways, the title of the book is called The Complete Guide to Navy Seal Fitness. The authour is Stewart Smith. His website is www.stewsmith.com. I got the book in a bookstore but you can also buy it on the website. I'm not interested in joining the seals, I just like working out and like challenges.
