Belief in the literal inerrancy of Genesis was never a requirement for salvation until you guys came along. That's the difference.I believe as Christian in the past believed. The apostles believed in Genesis. Jesus also. Just because some modern folks may have adopted such truths does not mean they hold a patent on it.
Who even mentioned salvation??Belief in the literal inerrancy of Genesis was never a requirement for salvation until you guys came along. That's the difference.
You are the one who attempts to diminish Scripture by insisting that Genesis is a second-rate form of literature.Who even mentioned salvation??
Belief in God's word is something Jesus displayed, and proved it was true by His life and rising from the dead as Scripture said. You do not get to cut out Genesis, and other parts you wish to claim are folk lore and fable.
Claiming such things does not diminish Scripture, it only exposes you.

No, only that bald historical narrative is the lowest form of literature. God, as author, can do better than that.True stories are first class actually. What, you think saying the word literature makes it untrue or something?
Not sure why you cannot address the validated prophet of God, Daniel in his proper place in history and reverence and relevance. No, only that bald historical narrative is the lowest form of literature. God, as author, can do better than that.
The reply you responded to tried to cut out discussion of nature as presented in Genesis. Diverting subject to Salvation.Who even mentioned salvation??

Nature when...in the past...now...future? On cannot look at present nature from God and the evolving that goes on here and now, and try to use that as a basis for how evolving used to happen, or will happen in the future!Yes He does. So why are you so down on evolution, part of God's created nature?
Thanks. I have noticed that some people try to insinuate that what was presented in Genesis is a crock of fables. The reply you responded to tried to cut out discussion of nature as presented in Genesis. Diverting subject to Salvation.
God does control nature. Good OP.
Why are you so down on higher forms of literature? Thanks. I have noticed that some people try to insinuate that what was presented in Genesis is a crock of fables.
God's word is not the sort of literature that is a lie. One does not call it literature as a way of belittling, and disbelieving it. One does not say Daniel was fables in the name of supposed literature. Why are you so down on higher forms of literature?
Why not? It reveals the Bible as being more profound and truthful than if it was just factual historical narrative. And why this preoccupation with Daniel? You really do sound like a Dispensationalist.God's word is not the sort of literature that is a lie. One does not call it literature as a way of belittling, and disbelieving it. Hmm, you haven't read much fanfiction, have you? Try reading through "My Immortal" and see how long you can still say that "bald historical narrative is the lowest form of literature". Warning for people: there is as much cursing as there are typos in the fanfiction I reference, it is generally inappropriate and not to be consumed by children (or properly thinking humans, I didn't even think it was possible to misspell the name "Dumbledore" that many different ways in one paragraph) and I advise that people not read it unless you are a person that ironically enjoys things for their crap factor. No, only that bald historical narrative is the lowest form of literature. Religious terms don't impress me.You really do sound like a Dispensationalist.
Fables told by God. The authority of scripture stems from its divine authorship, not from any particular genre determination. It renders Scripture equal to fables.
