  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Dragon-twigs

The propeller-shaped seeds from maple trees form the wings of these delicate dragonflies. For each, place four maple seeds on your work surface with their ends meeting as shown above. Add a drop of tacky glue to each end, then rest a 4-inch twig on top. Let the glue dry. (A hot glue gun can be used instead, if an adult helps.) Turn over the dragonfly and add a line of glitter glue to the edge of each wing. Attach two small glass bead eyes with glue.

Anything to do with maple leaves would be good for a Canadian-theme gift...

Awesome! We call those helicopters, if you throw them up in the air they spin like a propeller on the way down.

I personally, use acorns, hickory nuts, sage grass and empty bird nests for a lot of my crafts.
The acorns can be turned into elves, faeries, smurfs, etc. Just flip it upside down, paint the top to look like a hat, paint the head whichever tone you choose, then put a couple dots for eyes.
You can also dip the acorn in mod podge and roll it around in glitter of your choice. Put them in a small glass container, add a bow and you have a little festive decoration that sparkles.

Does anyone do nature inspired crafts?

I collected some acorns awhile ago and I was thinking about making a stick out of them, lol.

Hi angelkiss! Happy new year!

Yes acorns are rather versatile, I guess.

Crafts can keep one close to nature also.

Blessings.
