CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

NASCAR is for morons!! Just a bunch of cars going round in round in a circle ad nauseum; how boring can you get?
But it's really funny when WOMEN get interested in such a lame testosterone induced sport. What's up with that? Guess it's just a "Southern thing". I got news for you...I'm Southern and I don't understand it.

I've never really been into sports that much, but for some reason I love NASCAR. It's one of the few things I can connect to my dad with. We don't have closets full of NASCAR shirts or blow out our hearing on tracks all the time, but we've always been able to sit together and watch a race on the weekends or talk about a race while I'm at college, and I've been thankful for that.
I'm Northern, by the way.

I like to watch, but I really don't care who wins, as long as it isn't Jeff Gordon. I guess I hope for someone who hasn't won for a while, until it sorts out near the end, then I pick one to pull for. Oh, I was raised in the North, and still enjoy NASCAR.

Have you ever gone 200 mph mere centimeters from a group of cars? No? Gone on an oval lap with an incline that would cause a car to slide if not at speed? No? Do you have the endurance to drive a race for 500 miles and not make one mistake? No? Then how do you know.

i completely agree with rwl....I've been a HUGE racing fan for about the past 12 or so years, and its comments like that, that come from people who have never taken the time to understand the sport and see theres more to it than cars going around in circles. Nascar is my LIFE! I love it and never get tired of it! and RWL, dont forget about the part where the drivers are risking their lives every second they are out on that track! It's by far the most intense, and fascinating sport...at least to me. Go Jr. and Kyle Petty!
