  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just came back from seeing it and I LOVED it. Great acting all around, especially from Tilda Swinton, the Witch, she was perfect in that role. The Christian themes were very apparent in the movie, and I enjoyed seeing them in action on the big screen. The set design, costumes, lighting, everything was great. And I liked how an actor from Braveheart was Santa. :D I'd definitely see this movie again in the theater.

I just saw it today @ 11:45AM, in the middle of a snow storm. There was 4 inches on the ground when my family & I went in and there was 12 inches when we came out  .

The movie was very very good. They did an excellent job with it. I hope the next one will be soon.

definitely not kiddy... but yet will appeal to all ages.

We went this morning and it was absolutely beautiful! Like a previous poster said, you could see the Christian themes throughout....

Jim Broadbent as the Professor, Tilda Swinton as Jadis the White Witch and James Cosmo as Father Christmas were absolutely perfect, as was Liam Neeson as the voice of Aslan...

I cannot wait to see this movie. I cry everytime I see a trailer for it (well, pregnancy hormones help a little :) ) But I bawled when I first read the book. Like a heard a guy say on "Focus on the Family", sometimes when you take a look into the fantasy world, and put the aspects of faith in there, they lose their Sunday school-every day mundaneness that we get used to, and it reopens our hearts to the truth of the Gospel and makes it become new to us all over again. (Hope that made sense)

Yes, it makes sense, and I think I know what you mean.

Saw the movie tonight and I must say it was....decent. It's worth a see, but after that? Nah. There are seven books, I believe, and to put them all one movie is a hard task, but not all of us have the time to wait for two book series to come out with seven movies. :)

It wasn't overly kiddy was it?

I wouldn't take small children... so it's not kiddie stuff... but it was a kid's movie.. although I'd say that Disney couldn't make up their mind ... (not surprising) it's obvious they didn't want to give up the kiddie crowd by getting a pg-13 or above so the battle scenes are blood free.... the sacrifice of Aslan is decidedly odd... and obviously stops just short of... horror... certainly scary for the small fry crowd at the theater last night though judging from the frightened reaction of a number of the preschoolers in the audience.

The animals were extremely well done.. very realistic...

I think the average critic's score on yahoo was a B.. I concur.. maybe a B-minus... I kept feeling like something was missing... oh the movie is true to the book... but it's lacking a lot...

This review is pretty on point in my opinion-- a visually captivating children's fantasy but no more..
