• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

i participated in nanowrimo 2004. unfortunately, i didn't get to participate last year because i had 5 papers that month and i knew i wouldn't be able to pull off 50k and my papers. i'm hoping i'll be able to participate this year.
I'm gearing up to participate again this year. I'm already working on character sketches.

Plus, I hope to take some time this summer to edit last year's project and maybe even seek to get it published. It needs a lot of work though.

ah, when i participated i didn't plan anything and ended up with 86k. i think i overcompensated in attempt to make it to 50k. i wrote my back up novel from june to march (i basically just finished it) and now i'm working on what i had planned to write for nanowrimo 2005. i have to come up with another idea for november. i should think about it some but that probably won't happen until october.

woh, good on ya, Ward.

I did twice and failed on both accounts. Don't know whether I'm going to do this year's... just don't feel like writing something resembling a novel. I'm into short stories these days.
Just make it a loooooonnnnng short story. ^_^

I found out about it last year, will try it this one...

Does it have to be exactly 50k or is more acceptable if I am writing and don't realize it?
The goal is to have ~at least~ 50k. The site has a word verifier and you get a special icon on your profile page over there.

I think mine last year was just over 51k
