  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This thread is called "Name Three Things" and in it you ask the next person to Name Three Things (duh) about their interests, habits, life experiences, town, daily life, favorite stuff or whatever. Let's keep it fun!

1.) Lord of the Flies

2.) Someone told me about a made-for-TV movie about the May 4, 1970 Kent State Massacre. It was on the air some time in the early '80s, I believe. Anyway, I would like to see that.

3.) The Lion King on the big screen. I have only seen it on home video.

1.) The history

2.) The excellent libraries. The central public library is excellent, and the satellite branches are all nice. The new main library at the university is state of the art and was built some time in last ten years; and the libraries of individual colleges and departments are always interesting and full of excellent sources.

3.) The natural and architectural landscape. A gorgeous city.
