  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1) The death of Jerry Garcia and no more driving around the country seeing Grateful Dead in one state and then the next (before I was saved but still it was a challenge that helped shape who I am.)

2) Death of my soon-to-be-adopted daughter.

3) The death a month later of her mom, my fiancee.

I wrote the most words about #1 but that didn't give me as much tears and pain and thoughts of dying myself than the second two.

1) when Simeon holds the baby Jesus in his arms (there's faith in God, holding a baby and declaring deliverance!)
2) Elijah at Mount Carmel

Don't remember who but he was struck down when carrying the Arc of the Covenant for I think disobedience

Not a story but I have often wondered why did blood offering, in OT take away sin, it's the why was it set up this way that I ponder?
