I knew the lyrics, but not title or who did it. I finally googled it. So I will abstain from posting the answer!The song was sung by Jeff (Stone), aka Paul Peterson, and was called My Dad.
The OP requested that no vid links be posted here; so will honor that. But--if you go to youtube.com, and search, you will find it. Funny though--this one is there; but the #1 hit by Shelley Fabares (Mary Stone on the show) is not--due to copyright. Hmm--why one and not the other? It was there at one time, and yes, I have it! PM me with your e-mail if you would like to see the clip from the show that introduced the #1 hit, Johnny Angel. Btw--Shelley did not want to sing on the show--she told them that she had a terrible voice. It took some 80 takes to get it right, but when she did, WOW!!
