What would you guys like as a name for the forum that would reflect the ideas of those that visit this area?

It needs to reflect that it is a traditional place where SDA's can come and not be bashed by SDA's that do not believe in traditional SDA beliefs.

Yes, there is nothing wrong with keeping that name, at all. If a large group doesn't object and want it changed, that'll be the plan.

I agree Cliff, I like the name as it is. It's straightforward, meaning there's less chance of someone NOT realizing what this section is about.

Conservative is another possibility, since we have always been critical of the RCC dependence on "Tradition."

I think the rules of the CF forum clearly state that no one should bash any individual. Posters are at liberty to bash other ideas in those forums reserved for such a purpose, but anyone who bashes another individual should be immediately reported.

maybe this new arrangement will eliminate the question, " Are you adventist?" That question might be replaced with, " this is not your place..." Or "This is not the place for you, what you want is down the hall to the right..."

It's like going to a chuch and the usher asks, "Are you Progressive (ProAd) or Traditional (TradAd)?" Depending on your answer, she give you a specific bulletin and points you to the left or to the right. Yikes!!!!

I was thinking its more like going to a wedding and the usher asks you if you are a friend of the groom or the bride, then based on your answer you are seated left or right.....lol

This simply gives everyone a place to fellowship. That's all, I believe anyway, it was intended to do. I hope that is what it is used for, and pray that Jesus directs our thoughts, and expression of such in here, from here on out.

Or why not General Conference? That's what a lot of folks already use to distinguish.

I do agree, though, that traditional may not (after giving it some thought) be the word we would want to use, for the reason you point out.

Of course, General Conference is likely to give the false impression that the ideas stated in this forum are endorsed by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

We need to get rid of this exclusive mentality. Historic Adventism refers to only a small segment of the Adventist community.

What about "Fundamental Belief Adventists"? That's what we're supporting that so many other Adventists seem to be arguing against, so it makes sense to me. We say we're traditional because we keep the 28 fundamental beliefs.

As long as you get a name you feel comfortable with, but I don't recall anyone arguing against the Fundamental Beliefs.
