I see in you
so much
more.
And i wonder-
how much further ahead
of me-
-are you?
But that is not the real question.
We can compare only with Christ,
for he is the standard
of the perfect man.
And we are to strive for perfection,
Yet-
we
will
never
achieve
it,
Except though Jesus, the Christ
who, alone in his body
throught his death
on
the
cross,
has made the two become one
as immortality swallows up mortality
and in Him we stand perfect
clothed with His righteousness.
Having taken off our filthy rags
we stood naked-
our most fearful dream-
fearful of the Judge's eye
-discerning our wicked thoughts
and darkness of heart...
we hide and call for the mountains to cover us
or
we ask the Father to cover our nakedness-
and our shame
at our own depravity-
from His eyes
because He is so holy
and
we
are
so
vile.
So the Father covers us.
so much
more.
