God's Words to encourage us:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Psalms 77:14:
You are the God of miracles and wonders!
You demonstrate your awesome power among the nations.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hos. 14:8:
O Israel, stay away from idols! I am the one who looks after you and cares for you. I am like a tree that is always green, giving my fruit to you all through the year.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amos 4:13:
For the Lord is the one who shaped the mountains, stirs up the winds, and reveals His every thought. He turns the light of dawn into darkness and treads the mountains under His feet. The Lord God Almighty is His Name!
How awesome is our God! He revealed Himself to us in several ways: (1) He is the one who shaped the mountains, (2) He stirs up the winds. (3) He reveals His every thought. How? Thru and by His Words, the Bible (4) He turns the light of dawn into darkness. (5) He treads the mountains under His feet. (6) The LORD God Almighthy Is His Name!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Micah 6:8:
No, O people, the Lord has already told you what is good, and this is what He requires: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
Now that He revealed Himself to us, what shall we do? (1) The Lord has already told you what is good, Be born again (John chapter 3) - thru and by His words but you have ignored it, thinking there's another way around. (2) He has requirements: (a) To do what is right, even if it kills you. (b) To love mercy. - always be merciful even with your enemies. (c) To walk humbly with your God. You will never be alone, He will never leave you nor forsake you, He will walk with you humbly, always remember to walk with Him in humility too. Be who you are and don't pretend. God is always with you. In your weakness, His strength is made perfect. He did everything for us to be saved, now it's our turn to accept Jesus Christ as our own Lord and Personal Saviour and we can confidently say, myzoe - my God-kind of life.

C.H. Spurgeon's Morning Devotional

"I will; be thou clean."-Mark 1:41
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Primeval darkness heard the Almighty fiat, "light be," and straightway light was, and the word of the Lord Jesus is equal in majesty to that ancient word of power. Redemption like Creation has its word of might. Jesus speaks and it is done. Leprosy yielded to no human remedies, but it fled at once at the Lord's "I will." The disease exhibited no hopeful signs or tokens of recovery, nature contributed nothing to its own healing, but the unaided word effected the entire work on the spot and for ever. The sinner is in a plight more miserable than the leper; let him imitate his example and go to Jesus, "beseeching Him and kneeling down to Him." Let him exercise what little faith he has, even though it should go no further than "Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean"; and there need be no doubt as to the result of the application. Jesus heals all who come, and casts out none. In reading the narrative in which our morning's text occurs, it is worthy of devout notice that Jesus touched the leper. This unclean person had broken through the regulations of the ceremonial law and pressed into the house, but Jesus so far from chiding him broke through the law Himself in order to meet him. He made an interchange with the leper, for while He cleansed him, He contracted by that touch a Levitical defilement. Even so Jesus Christ was made sin for us, although in Himself He knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. O that poor sinners would go to Jesus, believing in the power of His blessed substitutionary work, and they would soon learn the power of His gracious touch. That hand which multiplied the loaves, which saved sinking Peter, which upholds afflicted saints, which crowns believers, that same hand will touch every seeking sinner, and in a moment make him clean. The love of Jesus is the source of salvation. He loves, He looks, He touches us, WE LIVE.
Today's Verse:
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Devotional Thought
by Dr. David E. Sumrall
A PASTOR'S ROLE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Text: 1 Corinthians 16:10-12 If Timothy comes, see to it that he has
nothing to fear while he is with you, for he is carrying on the work of
the Lord, just as I am. No one, then, should refuse to accept him. Send
him on his way in peace so that he may return to me. I am expecting him
along with the brothers. Now about our brother Apollos: I strongly
urged him to go to you with the brothers. He was quite unwilling to go
now, but he will go when he has the opportunity.(NIV)
We see an interesting passage in church life taking place in our
text. The ministry cannot be done by just one person. If it is, the work
will never grow to what God wants it to be. Paul does two things in
our text:
1. He reminds the members in Corinth to treat Timothy well, give
him no reason to fear and accept his leadership. A pastor must do this
and the members must follow this if a church is to grow. I know there
have been a few assistant Pastors in the past 20 years that have not
been worthy of this trust and have even tried to turn some of you
against Sister Bev and myself. Some of you want to therefore paint all
of our staff with that same paintbrush and that is not fair. Let me take
care of the problems. That is my job. You, please love and respect the
staff. That is your job. We have a great group of Pastors and Pastoras
on staff and they are worthy of your love and respect. Are they perfect?
Hey, are you? (hahahahahahaha) We are all a work of progress, so
lighten up and let us grow together. Please treat them well and accept
their ministry in the name of the Lord.
2. He reminds us of the traveling minister. (In this case, a
teacher by the name of Apollos) They cannot always come when we want
them but will come when they are able. To schedule a guest is a two-way
compromise. We must also be flexible if we desire their ministry among
us.
These are things we do not normally think about but they are part
of church life.
