Is that what Harvard looks like to you?But if you don't believe Humpty Dumpty was real, you'd be an idiot for trying to explain him using reality.
Why don´t you just do it yourself? Then answer the challenge from a reading comprehension perspective.
Take Genesis 1 and fit the individual acts of creation into the Harvard model of cosmic evolution.
Here's a harder challenge: post something -- anything at all -- that would give me reason to doubt the basic validity of evolution as a description of the history of life. (Oh, and that's not Harvard's interpretation: it's the interpretation of one guy at Harvard.)The cosmic evolution model of the universe consists of seven progressive steps, from the Big Bang to today.
Here is Harvard's interpretation of the seven progressive steps:
Put each act of creation in Genesis 1, from the earth on the first day to Eve on the sixth day, into their corresponding progressive steps.
- Particulate
- Galactic
- Stellar
- Planetary
- Chemical
- Biological
- Cultural
I'm not that desperate for something to do.Why don´t you just do it yourself?
You won't take this challenge; and you want me to post a harder one? Here's a harder challenge: post something -- anything at all -- that would give me reason to doubt the basic validity of evolution as a description of the history of life.
And Harvard has disclaimers all over the place, don't they? or do they care what's on their servers?sfs said:(Oh, and that's not Harvard's interpretation: it's the interpretation of one guy at Harvard.)
No, I don't want you to post a harder challenge. I want you to post a relevant challenge. You won't take this challenge; and you want me to post a harder one?
Why would they have disclaimers? Unless it's something that makes them legally liable, no, they don't care what faculty members put on their web pages. And Harvard has disclaimers all over the place, don't they? or do they care what's on their servers?
But if you don't believe Humpty Dumpty was real, you'd be an idiot for trying to explain him using reality.
There's nothing wrong with the 7-stage view from Harvard, but it's less about cosmic evolution per se, and more about the evolution of complexity (hence its title), which makes it rather anthropocentric in the latter stages....And Harvard has disclaimers all over the place, don't they? or do they care what's on their servers?
And for the record, that man stands alone in his interpretation, does he?
Thank you.I can see why you might find it an appealing perspective
Wait... what is it you think I disagree with?I know you disagree with it, but at least you're willing to respect it enough to understand where I'm coming from; instead of trying to fight against it and looking like ... well ... like others are.
Humpty Dumpty was actually about Israel's King David. It tells of his fall from grace when he committed adultry with her after seeing her from on his rooftop.
But you get all railed up when we aren´t willing to do your work for you? Ok.I'm not that desperate for something to do.
Actually I have a thread similar to this one, in which Frumious Bandersnatch answered quite nicely HERE.Might as well sort them alphabetically or by how friendly they sound.
Interesting.Coo, a different Frumious Bandersnatch - if I'd have known that when I registered I'd have chosen something different... I'm surprised the forums allow duplicate member names.

lol, source?
Because my source (which cites its own sources) says otherwise. http://knowledgenuts.com/2014/01/08/humpty-dumpty-was-a-cannon-not-an-egg/
Maybe it will remain as one of those great unsolved mysteries of all time.
