Then you should have gone with them. It is always important to go where you feel led of Godto go, whether you are right in your feeling or not. It is all you have to go on. And if it is YOUR team, you should always be with YOUR team.

I could not go with my team because I had two other very important appointments.

Well, I understand priorities. As long as you kept the other two important appointments you did all you could do. After all we are only human and cannot be everywhere at once.

I often have scheduling conflicts. In those cases I put them in two catergories, The ones I cannot possibly keep, and the ones I can. I eliminate the ones I cannot possibly keep, and place the others in order of thier importance to me, and begin to keep them that way.

I certainly did not mean to suggest you had nothing better to do. I am sorry. I spoke out of turn.

I have fasted a few times, it is quite easy and enlightening. Every time you feel a pain of hunger it reminds you of God, who provides. It's always a very spiritual growth experience. I have never felt called to go 40 days though.

Yes, just liquids.

I guess its because of my ministry. I am a prayer warrior and to break sometimes strongholds or to help people to get free from demons, a fast is needed.

We are all called, and all are part of the Body of Christ but we differ in ministries and the way we do things.

I don't separate from the world when I do it. When I have fasted I have continued to work, whether it be Police or otherwise. That still allows me to work up quite an appetite and helps me to keep focus in times of stress and just plain 'busy-ness'. :) It means a lot to me to be in a stressful situation where I have to take some sort of immediate action and to have my thoughts completely centered on God.

It definately does bring you to a spiritual height, a personal revival of sorts, I try my best after the fast to hold onto it and keep the spirtuality up. I haven't fasted since I started seminary because it's easier to keep my focus on God without as many worldly distractions and disappointments. I am blessed that God allowed Police work into my ministry of growth and I must say that Christian Police Officers have a blessed ministry indeed, when it seems like all you see is death and depravity it's hard to remember sometimes that the whole world isn't like that...yet.

Altya,

I guess I have not searched well enough but I do not understand what you are referring to when you say "your team". What type of ministry do you do? And, if you've posted it already, where can I find it?

I know in response to one of my posts you said that I was like you in enjoying prophetic singing. So I presume there is something pretty exciting going on here  But I don't know what it is :D

My team consists out of the leader of Woman conferences Stella Eleird, and about 20 women who is working with her to arrange conferences all over and give woman a few days away from daily stuff, and children, spending time the Lord and so on. We have conferences going every month of the year and we do it with the blessings of the local pastors. This is open for all groups.

Yes it’s very exiting; we move under the spiritual gift and believe that we have to be balanced in the Word and Holy Spirit moving. I do sing prophetic.

Thanks Altya,

Sounds good to me. I believe that too. Operating in the gifts without knowing the Bible can be a dissaster. And so can knowing the Bible but not operating in the gifts.

I really enjoy prophetic singing. It just amazes me that the Lord loves us so much that He sings over us. (Zeph 3:17) My most favorite verse.

Someday I hope to visit Africa. There are several south Africans that come to my church in Orlando, Florida.
