The word "inerrant" is not in the Bible. The term is not in the Scripture. I neither believe nor disbelieve it. When it comes to doctrines, I prefer to adhere to the phraseology of the Scripture. I would not bother using the term in the formal doctrinal sense. People who like to generalize tend to overgeneralize in a doctrine. More precisely, I know the following:

2 Timothy 3:

16a All Scripture is God-breathed.
See Is the Bible the word of God?.

There's no doubt that all valuable understanding of our Lord and Savior hinges on this Truth inspired by the Living Truth.

Although the actual English word "inerrant" is not used in the bible, the meaning is certainly there, for as your quoted verse says, the bible is "God-breathed", and therefore inerrant. We use many words in English that aren't in the bible to refer to teachings that are. A few examples are: missionary, bible study, Trinity, the Golden Rule.

Thank God for the Holy Spirit of Jesus dwelling in our very soul's, Who can make sure we understand God's Divine Revelation of Himself through All Canon.

Well ... there is no sin in God ... impossible for Him to do ... inerrant

God-breathed is to say that all Scripture has its source in God and that it comes from God and that it is therefore His word and is inerrant.

There are indeed many interpretations ... we live in the state of babylon (confusion) but that is not to say we shouldn't pursue the truth in God's word. We may not know the truth about everything we want to know ... but we can certainly understand the basic principles of God's truth. Jesus is our example in all things ... we are to pattern ourselves after Him ... walk in His steps.

The bible even says a child can understand it (basic principles)

2 Timothy 3:15 ESV

And how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

As we grow older however the Lord does want us to grow in our knowledge and faith.

2 Peter 3:18 ESV

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

Gods word is inerrant, we humans most certainly are not ... we stumble around a lot ... but do seek it non the less.

Personally I can't wait for the return of the Lord and knowing without a doubt what the truth is about many things.

We live in a world that is a cesspool of lies ... grow weary of it at times ... I do cling to the inerrant word of God ... it's the only thing that helps to keep my sanity in tact ... I'm so thankful for it.

Or, (and not to say that he can't), at least, to make sure we understand what he would have us to understand. We will not get the totality of it until we see him as he is. (and (figuratively) smack our foreheads at our former blindness!)

Mark…

One of my favorite thoughts is that Theology won’t be 100% correct until the very Physical Presence of Jesus Christ is before us! If we can agree on this… it does my soul well.

All Love in Jesus to you, Sibling in Him, who searches Him out daily.

The word "inerrant" is not in the Bible.
Jeremiah 1:12 says God is watching over His Word to perform what He said He would do. In the KJV they use the word "IT" which I do not think God would use the word IT or THING> At least I avoid them for respect for the Word of God.

So there can be huge problems with translation and interpretation. When it comes to the promises of God I think we can use the KJV for that. Still even with the KJV a lot of the Bible does not get translated.

Fully certain. The bible cannot be both inspired by God and contain error.
Which Bible would that be, then, that does not contain error?

Did I assert the opposite?
I neither believe nor disbelieve it.
If we are not to believe His Word is not inerrant
... then that is to cast doubt on it ... that is deception ... no different than what satan said in the garden of Eden ie ....
Did God really say ....

You can't be neutral on the inerrancy of His Written Word ... nor you can't have it both ways. You either believe it ... or you don't.

Define His Written Word
The Holy Scriptures, Old and New Testaments, are the written Word of God, given by divine inspiration. The inspired authors spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. In this Word, God has committed to humanity the knowledge necessary for salvation.

Jesus Used Old Testament History. What the Lord taught was either based on, or supported by, historical events described in the Old Testament. He used them not simply to teach the facts of history, but to support and highlight principles of truth.

No doubt the journey of the written bible getting to it's published state was a difficult one ... people can do their own in depth research on the matter ... canonizing/translations etc. (it's a very long study) Most protestants accept the 66 books as being inerrant. The Textus Receptus is without a doubt the text that was considered the preserved text by way of the Reformation.

The main point is that the teachings of Jesus from the OT and the NT can not contradict one another ... the OT are the testament of Him. Does God not have the ability to keep His teachings in tact without error? If we cast doubt ... then what is the point of it all? Either it's all true or it isn't .... a partial truth is a lie.

Jesus Recognized the Entire Extent of the Old Testament

The Old Testament, in its entirety, was recognized as authoritative by the Lord Jesus. He called it the Scriptures. We read Him saying the following:

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me. (John 5:39 NASB)
To Him, there was a completed Old Testament Scripture. In other words, He recognized every book as inspired by God.When contending with satan Jesus himself used the written word thus affirming it's authenticity.

Given the history of the Bible ... I find it quite remarkable (supernatural) that it is cohesive. The odds of that happening without inspiration from God is totally impossible ... in my opinion.

God is not a God of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33) planting doubt in our minds where He has already sown assurance in His word.

Take it as total truth ... or not ... Jesus did .... and I will do likewise. I really don't see how people can be luke warm about it ... seems rather futile to do so.

Can you define the Written Word of God operationally (algorithmically, procedurally)? Give a precise example. I need precision before I can argue about it.

"An operation is the performance which we execute in order to make known a concept."

That being the case .... then we study the Word of God as a whole to determine the "concepts" ... however ... concept is not a good word to use in relation to the Bible (a set of ideas - an abstract idea; a general notion) ... as Christians we take the Bible as absolute truth inspired/revealed to us by the creator. Principles not concepts.

Principle - a fundamental truth that serves as the foundation for a system of belief or behavior or for a chain of reasoning.

Jesus said He is the way and the truth (absolute truth) ... that is why God can not change and states that He doesn't change.

Malachi 3:6 says, “I am the Lord, I change not.” Hebrews 13:8 says Jesus is the same “yesterday, today, and forever.” When everything else shifts and changes, we are to stand on a solid, unchanging foundation (principles).

Truth ... one accepts the entire Bible as absolute truth ... or not. Absolute truth can not be changed. It can be misunderstood by us but not changed.
