The Name of Jesus is powerful ---that is if one knows Him. Following His teachings is not sufficient for salvation or blessings, for we need Him in our heart as our Savior who died for our sins, and make Him Lord of our life and best Friend. See John 3 and John 14, and ask God to teach you. Look up always!

When you were 12 you say you went forward as others were pushing you. So it wasn't the same as making a conscious choice to accept Jesus as your Savior. Later you fell into the occult but God's grace through the instrumentality of another helped you get out of that. Now you say you have lingering effects of that time and have been praying for deliverance.

Be sure you have really accepted Christ this time by renewing that commitment to Him. Good to ask a mature Christian friend to pray for you for that. It is really simply..just ask for forgiveness and tell Jesus you accept His death on the cross for you.

Continue to pray for deliverance from the effects of occult. It is usually a battle in your mind because certain thoughts during your time in the occult got hold and won't let go. Philippians 4:8-9..is good to read about healthy thinking. You may also ask someone to pray with you. Here it is:

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you."

Not everything is due to demonic forces. I would suggest you see a good dentist for your tooth problem.

Meanwhile, praying for you to find the help you need and that you won't try to do it alone. You need the support and prayers of a church community. I hope you have one.
